Notes: Mary S. Rawls Bullard's husband, Moses C. Bullard, may have died before the 1850 census, when she was listed in the home of New York-born gunsmith James J. Mackey (Mackay) in Columbia, SC. Mackey's wife, Sarah, is believed to be Mary Rawls Bullard's daughter.

By 1859, James J. Mackay was listed in the Columbia SC City Directory as a clerk with his house located: "south side Taylor between Sumter and Marion", which was located on the same block as Mary Rawls Bullard's father, Benjamin F. Rawls. Mary moved with the Mackay family to Grove Station in Greenville Co., South Carolina, after the Civil War.

Mary S. Rawls and Moses C. Bullard lie side-by-side near her parents on a beautiful old walkway behind the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.
