2 | Title: Obituary Date: 1963 Text: Mrs. William Cato. LEESVILLE -- Mrs. Lelia Boatwright Cato, 93, of Batesburg, died Thursday morning at the Miller Nursing Home following a long illness. Mrs. Cato was born in Lexington County, daughter of the late Azariah and Emily Clark Cato [should be Boatwright*], and was the widow of William Cato. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, attended Palmetto Intercollegiate Institute at Lexington, and taught school in Lexington County. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. A. T. Wilson of Batesburg; one son, William Leon Cato of Phoenix City, Ala., two sisters, Mrs. Brooks Able and Mrs. Julian Quattlebaum, and one brother, Oscar Boatwright, all of Batesburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday from Barr Funeral Home by Dr. A. L. Gunter, assisted by Dr. J. P. McGregor and the Rev. Mr. Wrenn. Burial will be in the Batesburg Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be William Frantz, Persey Harris, J. T. Shealy, Clarence Asbill, E. L. Lorick, and Dr. Marion Cullum. *[Transcriber's note] |
