MONETTA, Feb. 10.--Funeral services for William Cato, planter and life-long resident of this section, were conducted at 3 p.m. yesterday at the Batesburg cemetery by the Rev. Law Mobley of Columbia, and the Rev. Kennet Littlejohn Hamilton of the Batesburg-Leesville Presbyterian church. Active pallbearers were Chester Cato, J. P. Shealy, Legare Lorick, Marion D. Cullum, Weldon DuBose, and Raymond White. Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Collum, J. Fred Wills, Clarence J. Asbill, C. Brice Jordan, J. Ernest Boatwright, L. Harold Boatwright, George Quattlebaum, Gantt B. Cato, R. B. Cato, Milwee Cook, V. E. Hutto, and Dorian Swearingen. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Leila Boatwright Cato, whom he married 50 years ago; a daughter, Mrs. A. P. Wilson of Batesburg; a son, William Leon Cato of Monetta, and three grandchildren. |
