"WESSINGER - Mathias WEISINGER line, came from the parish of Pforzheim in the northern parts of Baden. Release from the bonded serfdom which was granted to Mattheus Wossinger from Darmsbach, (Germany) for emigration to America on 16 Febr. 1752. Generallandesarchiv Karlsruhe 61/853. Arrived 2 Oct 1752 Snow Rowand, commanded by Captain Arthur Tran. Mathias Wessinger with wife and 3 children, Michael 8, Mathias 6, Catherine 1 ½ year. Matthias settled his family at the junction of the Broad
and Saluda Rivers in 1755. "
