Notes: | Per Ederington's History of Edgefield Co: "This third wife was a Miss McClanahan of Greenville County. There are two children by this marriage now living in Greenville, a son and a daughter". The son mentioned by Ederington was Samuel Feaster whose mother was Annette McClanahan. The two appeared together in the census of 1860 in Oil Camp, Greenville Co., South Carolina along with Samuel's father Nathan Andrew Feaster and Nathan A. Feaster's two daughters (Lula and Emma) from his two previous marriages. Samuel N. Feaster was probably named in honor of his maternal grandfather, Samuel G. McClanahan Esq. of Greenville Co., South Carolina. The names of his children reflect various ancestral family names. There are living descendants of Samuel N. Feaster (as of January 2005). |
