Notes: | Virgil P. Clayton and his family took refuge in Feasterville during the Civil War when his parents sought refuge among Universalist friends, after their home in Mississippi had been burned. Source: e-mail message 5 Jan 2003 from Nancy Jo Smith <najose@earthlink.net>. Virgil P. Clayton, was a serious suitor of Maria Louisa Georgiana "Lula" Feaster in the years before she married John G. Wolling in 1872. Virgil Clayton became a physician. Several children in the Feaster, Coleman, and other Feasterville families in the late 1800's were named in honor of Virgil Clayton.
