Notes: Jacob Norris Feaster, Jr. was the first son of Jacob N. Feaster and his first wife, Amelia Sees. Various accounts of the period refer to Jacob Jr. as "Jakie" or "Jay", probably to distinguish him from the several other Jacob's in his extended family.

Jacob and his elder sister Julia were probably the individuals mentioned by his aunt Margaret Narcissa Feaster in her diary on February 16, 1865, the day before Columbia was burned:
"Julia and Jakie came up [to Feasterville] from Columbia today. Gen'l Sherman was within seven miles of the city when they left."

Jacob and Julia moved with their father to Sand Point (later Titusville), Florida after the Civil War.
