Notes: David Boozer lived in Newberry, South Carolina with his Pennsylvania-born wife Amelia and (adopted?) daughter Mary Boozer. After the death of Mr. Boozer, Amelia married Jacob J. Norris Feaster, and lived in Columbia, SC. Mary Boozer was pictured in the family photo album of Maria Louisa "Lula" G. Feaster of Fairfield Co., South Carolina, who was a niece of Jacob J. N. Feaster.

David Boozer is included in this database due to his connection to Amelia and Mary Boozer who were related to the Feaster family of South Carolina and Florida by marriage, and who became notorious for their actions during the Civil War.

David Boozer's wife Amelia and daughter Mary figured prominently in two novels:
1. Another Jezebel, a Yankee Spy in South Carolina. 1958. R. L. Bryan Co., Columbia, S.C. 219 pp. Author: Graydon, Nell S.
2. La Belle: a novel based on the life of the notorious southern belle, Marie Boozer. 1960. New York: Dell, 1960, c. 1959. Author: Coker, Elizabeth Boatwright.

Note: NOTE - - Data for birth and death of David Boozer are listed elsewhere as b. 9 Feb 1788 and d. 10 Feb 1850. The names, ages, and birthplaces of Amelia and the child seem to match those of Amelia Sees Harned Burton who married David Boozer, and her child Mary (Sarah Amelia) Boozer.
There is evidence (Will Books of Newberry County, SC) that David Boozer (b. 1786) died in February, 1850 - - 5 months before the 1850 census.
Was this a different David Boozer, or an artifact of how the census was taken?
