Notes: Etheland Brooks Feaster Wilson was the daughter of Jacob J. Norris Feaster of Fairfield Co., South Carolina, and Amelia Sees Harned Burton Boozer Feaster. Her parents' marriage failed in the early days of the Civil War. Her maternal half-sister was the notorious Mary Boozer, and she had several paternal half-siblings including Julia Feaster who grew up in La Grange, Brevard Co., Florida. Mary Boozer and Julia Feaster, but not Etheland, were pictured in the photo album of Maria Louisa "Lula" Georgiana Feaster, niece of Jacob J. Norris Feaster.

The first record we find for this child was the Columbia, South Carolina census of 1860, where she was apparently listed as 2-year-old "Cootie" in Jacob N. Feaster's dwelling on Washington St. between Richardson and Sumter, about 3 blocks from the State capitol building. After her family's move to Florida, she married B.R. Wilson and raised a family in La Grange, Brevard Co. in a household near others in her extended family.
