Corrections to obituary, supplied by RCF: The Threatts had only 8 children. Two infant sons who died at birth, instead of three. Mrs. Threatt was Lucy Hair born in Georgia, the eldest child of John Ervin and Ms. Funderburk Hair.

Mrs. J. A. Threatt, Pioneer Resident, Passes Away

Mrs. J. A. Threatt, member of a prominent Wills Point family, died at her home on West High Street June 17, following an illness of several months
/
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon, June 18, at 3:clock with a former pastor Rev. M. E. McGlamery, of Dallas conducting the last rites. Assisting him was Rev. Mouzon Fletcher, pastor of Russell Memorial Church.

Pallbearers were W. H. Wingo, Jr., L. R. Anderson, John R. Johnson, Sam Lester, Thompson Coleman, Leddy Johnson, J. B. Gabert and Talbert Harris.

Interment was in White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Eubank & Co. Funeral Company.

Mrs.Threatt was a native of Lancaster, South Carolina, having been born there November 2, 1876. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity where she married Mr. Threatt on January 23, 1898. In 1904 Mr. and Mrs.Threatt moved to Wills Point where she lived until her death.

In paying tribute to the memory of Mrs. Threatt, Rev. McGlamery gave a beautiful description of her loyalty to her church and her family and also her many friends, slow to see their faults and quick to respond to their needs. She was of a quiet, unassuming nature, yet her sincerity of heart and her warm, affectionate personality endeared her to all those who knew her.

Mr. and Mrs. Threatt were the parents of nine children, three sons and a daughter preceding her in death. Maude, the daughter, died at age of 14 years. The sons died in infancy.

Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Penn of Gilmer, four sons, J. C. Threatt of Wills Point, Harmon Threatt of Grand Prarie, LeRoy Threatt and Durwood Threatt of Dallas. Also surviving were three sisters and one brother, four half-sisters and four half-brothers.

Out-of-town friends attending the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Walls, Mrs. and Mrs. B. B. Burke and Nancy, Mrs. George Fazakerley, Billy Mullins, Mrs. Lena Mullins, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Myers, Dave Purnell, Mesdames Lilly Mae Simmons and Allie Langston, Miss Laverne Whiteside, all of Dallas; Mesdames P. S. Collier, V. J. Stephens, Raymond Royce City; Luke Gabbert and Billy Deen of Canton; Gerald Burnett of Terrell, Thalbert Harris of Tyler; Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Penn of Kilgore; Mr.and Mrs. F. C. Williams of Grand Saline.
