Text: The Lancaster News, Thurs., Apr. 29, 1971 Mrs. Blackmon Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie Jordan Blackmon of Kershaw, widow of C. Ross Blackmon, Sr., were conducted last Saturday afternoon from First Baptist Church of Kershaw. Interment was in the family plot in Kershaw Cemetery. Officiating were the Rev. W. J. Bradley and the Rev. Grover Robinson. Active pallbearers were Ebin Young, Sonny Jordan, Harry Truesdale, Jack Jordan, Howard Young and Truman Faulkenberry. Mrs. Blackmon died Thursday, April 22, in the Hartsville Nursing Home. Her age was 81. Born in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late L. J. and Mary Threatt Jordan. She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Kershaw. Surviving are two sons, James L. Blackmon and C. Ross Blackmon, Jr., both of Kershaw; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Horton of Camden and Mrs. C. W. Young of Columbia; and one brother, W. C. Jordan of Kershaw. |
